Lakeland Historic Car Club

This years AGM was well attended with 27 members. Historically, for the first time in 30 years all the members attending approved the changes to the Articles of Association and the Club Rules . These changes bring the running of the club into the 21st Century, by streamlining process and procedures for the Council of Management in making the following amendments:

1. Reduction of Directors from 13 to 7 with a minimum of 3 (those being the Chairman,Vice-Chairman, Treasurer) who will handle the Legal and Financial operation of the club.

2. Minor changes to Membership including prompt payment of annual dues.

3. Nomination of Officers to be prior to the AGM so that those wishing to serve on the committee are well aware of their responsibilities.

4. The Company Secretary is responsible bi-annually for informing the Council of the status of the Club at Companies House, to prevent the problems encountered between 2008-2011 with incorrect filing at Companies House. 

All members attending enjoyed a free supper at this Historic Event.

As of 15 April 2011 the club has a new Events Secretary. Mike Dickinson has kindly offered to step in as Acting Events Secretary following the resignation of Ross Pincott. Due to the high number of events with Ross’s contact details in the current newsletter we ask that you contact Mike on his number of 01524-734883 to get updates on events in April and May that you would previously have got from Ross.

30th Anniversary Run around Cumbria, leaving the Heaves Hotel in Kendal via Greenodd, Muncaster, Cockermouth and Caldbeck before returning to Kendal. Members and friends are welcome at any point on the trip to join the LHCC drive.

This event has slightly changed from our usual run to Shap Chippy, to a visit to Lowther Castle Inn in Hackthorpe for a valued ‘ Fish & Chip’ special at £6.50. If you have questions please contact John Wilkinson at his number in the newsletter

A small group attended at the Heaves Hotel and the winners enjoyed their prizes

The Annual General Meeting of the LHCC at the Heaves Hotel Kendal. All members welcome. Starts at 8pm.

This event was well attended with 25 members and committee present. All enjoyed sandwiches and chips after a successful evening where the proposed nominations for officers and council of management positions were agreed by all present without the need for a ballot paper vote.
